The movie will be really called Locked In, not Valediction anymore. And you can see a preview of the poster and the trailer! Thank you Regys!

Thanks for posting the trailer. The film looks really good…but I get a bit of a Fatal Attraction feel from it (at least the trailer). I still like the title Valediction better.

This movie looks amazing!! And love the Locked In poster…I want one!!! Just waiting for the release date. And that Ben can still take my breath away like no other man!! *Sigh*

apologies to be the dissenting opinion, but i gotta be honest about what i felt about it….

the trailer was a little hard to follow. had to view it 3x just to figure out what the plot is about (and i’d like to believe i’m pretty good at picking things up very quickly).

indeed it has a passing similarity to Fatal Attraction but there’s a twist to this, “nothing is what it seems” is the vibe i’m getting to it from it. Ben was quoted as likening it to Memento, and that was one twisted story. i’m not expecting this to be as good as Memento (i’m setting my expectations real low), but i do expect to be satisfied with the “plot twist” specially this coming from Ben. i dont expect him to do a lame brain movie so early in his career (or ever for that matter).

about the title switch, i agree Valediction may not feel to be the right name for this given the plot, but neither is Locked In i think. maybe “Run” or “Off the Road” would be better, given how many times this phrase was used (overused?) in the trailer :-P

its good to see Ben in something more contemporary, this is probably the first film he’s ever had where the setting is present day (Easy Virtue was technically a period film since it was set in the 20s). but i am yet to be sold on his performance here. i know its ill adviced to base an impression of a film on the trailer alone, but given that theres hardly anything to go on about this other than a handful of spy photos the trailer is the only material we have to get a feel of what the film is about.

i know Ben cant do much about his appearance (long hair, full beard) since he’s due at Narnia right after this film wraps but he looks like a mess even before the car accident lol! and the synopsis says that he’s supposed to be this advertising alpha male that is the envy of all. we need another trailer where we actually see his character be this enviable top gun at the prime of his career before he supposedly turns his back to it.

lastly, was it just me or was Ben’s actually slipping on his American intonation? there were several instances in the trailer where i thought Ben was speaking in his own English accent. hmm, if Ben has the time maybe they can re-record some of his lines. it isnt like him to slip up on something like accents which is his forte.

I’m excited to see this movie! Although I agree it would have been better to call it “Off the Road.” It’s mentioned several times in the trailer.

Wow, that’s an in-depth analysis of just 1:48 minutes Steelsheen. ;-)
I agree with the trailer being a little hard to follow, although we have known for quite some time what the story will be about. Still, I’m very much looking forward to this, and I’m convinced Ben has what it takes to take the lead in a movie he likened to Memento. Just to see a few glimpses of those expressive black eyes tells me enough. ;-)

Steelsheen, I agree with you about the accent. I am surprised (and glad) that we have a trailer so soon.

I love Ben but I agree with Steelsheen. They must come out another trailer because this is not very clear what the plot is about .

Well , about Bens american accent , i did not notice nothing wrong with his intonation in the trailer .
Maybe, i could not listen carefully what he’s saying because i was very damn distracted by his too hot dark eyes x3

Ekstertje, I agree with you! But I’m happy Steelsheen could analize all that haha, thank you for sharing! And I still have to watch it more times to realize about the accent, lol!
